— A podcast is a digital media file that can be listened to on-demand. Podcasts are often created in series and generally range from 10 minutes to over an hour. The majority of podcasts are audio-based, but some are video or text-based.
— Podcasts are an episodic form of electronic media which are available on demand, over the internet. They are usually audio-based, though some are video-based. The term podcasting is a neologism coined by Ben Hammersley in 2004, literally meaning “small digital recording.
— Podcasts refer to a digital media broadcast that is distributed over a vast network of computers. They seem to be a more popular form of broadcast these days because they are very efficient and can be accessed at any time from any location.
— Podcasts are a form of digital media that is typically released in episodic installments. A podcast is a subset of webcast, typically consisting of an audio recording distributed via RSS feeds, downloads from different websites, or through iTunes. Podcasts have been around since the nineties but have seen a recent boom in popularity. The word podcast has been adopted as a neologism to refer to a feed that distributes multimedia files over the Internet.
